Overview

The Videographer captures high-quality video content documenting MKMC events and programs, creating engaging visual stories for social media, YouTube, and promotional purposes. This role requires DSLR videography skills, editing proficiency, and the ability to build monthly B-roll libraries that provide diverse content assets for ongoing marketing use. You report to the Marketing Lead and serve as MKMC's primary video content creator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Film all major MKMC events and select regular programs using DSLR camera equipment producing cinema-quality footage

  • Create monthly B-roll library capturing diverse aspects of MKMC life: prayer scenes, program activities, facility shots, community interactions

  • Edit raw footage into polished videos suitable for YouTube, Instagram Reels, and promotional materials

  • Deliver edited videos to Marketing Lead within 48–72 hours of events for timely publication

  • Respect Islamic guidelines regarding videography including gender boundaries and privacy considerations

  • Collaborate with Social Media Manager providing short-form content optimized for Instagram and TikTok

  • Maintain organized video archive with proper file management and backup systems

Expectations & Commitment

  • Time Commitment: 12–15 hours per month (filming + editing + B-roll creation)

  • Reporting: Direct report to Marketing Lead with video delivery within 48–72 hours post-event

  • Equipment: REQUIRED DSLR camera with video capabilities, stabilization equipment, and external microphone

  • Availability: Flexible schedule for evening and weekend event coverage

  • Professional Development: Continuously improve videography and editing skills

Success Metrics

  • Cover 100% of major events with high-quality video content

  • Deliver edited videos within 48–72 hours meeting publication deadlines

  • Build monthly B-roll library of 20+ usable clips for ongoing content creation

  • Achieve 95%+ usability rate on submitted footage meeting quality standards

  • Zero privacy or Islamic guideline violations in published video content

First 90-Day Priorities

  • Film inaugural events establishing video style and quality expectations

  • Create initial B-roll library capturing diverse MKMC spaces, programs, and community moments

  • Develop shot list templates for different event types ensuring comprehensive coverage

  • Establish editing workflow and file organization system

  • Create backup and storage system ensuring video preservation and easy access

  • Build rapport with community members facilitating natural, authentic videography

Systems & Tools

  • DSLR camera with video capabilities (REQUIRED)

  • Stabilization equipment (gimbal or tripod) and external microphone

  • Video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve)

  • Cloud storage for video library and backup (Google Drive, Dropbox, external drives)

  • File organization system with clear naming conventions and categorization

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong videography skills with portfolio demonstrating event and community video work

  • Technical proficiency in DSLR video operation, lighting, audio, and composition

  • Video editing expertise creating polished, engaging final products

  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of Islamic guidelines regarding video and gender interactions

  • Ability to work unobtrusively capturing authentic moments without disrupting programs

  • Reliable, punctual, and responsive to event coverage assignments

  • Own DSLR equipment suitable for professional video production (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
