Overview

The Kids Program Lead serves as the strategic architect and operational manager of all children's programming at MKMC, overseeing Quran education, Story Nights, Kids Club, and seasonal camps. This comprehensive role requires curriculum development expertise, team leadership abilities, and passion for creating Islamic learning experiences that shape children's love for their faith. You will build and manage a team of volunteers while ensuring consistent, high-quality programming across all children's initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate multiple children's program streams: Quran classes, Story Nights, weekly Kids Club, and seasonal camps

  • Develop age-appropriate Islamic curriculum integrating Quran, prophetic stories, character development, and fun activities

  • Recruit, train, and manage team of volunteer instructors and program assistants across all children's programming

  • Establish safety protocols, child protection policies, and emergency procedures for all kids' activities

  • Maintain parent communication systems ensuring transparency, updates, and family engagement in children's learning

  • Track program outcomes including Quran progression, attendance rates, and behavioral development indicators

  • Coordinate with Family Program Lead to ensure alignment between kids-specific and family-wide programming

Expectations & Commitment

  • Time Commitment: 15–20 hours per month (program oversight + team management + planning + execution)

  • Reporting: Direct report to Programs Director with monthly operational reviews

  • Strategic Planning: Submit comprehensive 6-month calendar covering all program streams within 30 days

  • Team Development: Build and maintain volunteer instructor team of 6–10 individuals within first quarter

  • Safety Compliance: Maintain vulnerable sector screening and child safety certifications for all team members

  • Professional Development: Participate in quarterly volunteer training sessions

Success Metrics

  • Launch and sustain all four program streams with zero program cancellations

  • Maintain combined weekly participation of 40+ children across programs within 90 days

  • Achieve 90% parent satisfaction rating on curriculum quality and child engagement

  • Build fully staffed volunteer team with defined roles and accountability by month 4

  • Demonstrate measurable Quran progression and Islamic knowledge growth through assessments

First 90-Day Priorities

  • Audit existing children's programming and identify gaps, strengths, and immediate improvement opportunities

  • Recruit core volunteer instructor team and establish clear roles, expectations, and training protocols

  • Launch or relaunch Quran classes with structured curriculum and progression tracking system

  • Execute inaugural Story Night establishing format, content standards, and child engagement strategies

  • Plan and schedule next seasonal camp with theme, activities, and volunteer staffing

  • Implement parent communication system and gather feedback on programming priorities

  • Establish child safety protocols including check-in/check-out procedures and emergency response

Systems & Tools

  • WhatsApp groups for volunteer team coordination and parent communication

  • Google Sheets for attendance tracking, Quran progression records, and volunteer schedules

  • Curriculum repository for lesson plans, story resources, and activity guides

  • Registration system for camps and ongoing programs

  • Child safety checklists and incident reporting protocols

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong Islamic knowledge with ability to teach children Quran, stories, and character development engagingly

  • Proven experience managing children's programming in educational, religious, or recreational settings

  • Leadership skills to recruit, train, and manage teams of volunteers effectively

  • Excellent organizational abilities to oversee multiple concurrent program streams

  • Natural rapport with children and understanding of child development principles

  • Strong communication skills with both children and parents from diverse backgrounds

  • Parent or extensive childcare experience strongly preferred

  • Age 25+ preferred; combination of Islamic knowledge, pedagogical skills, and operational maturity
