Overview
The Graphic Designer creates all visual assets for MKMC including social media graphics, event flyers, program brochures, website visuals, and presentation materials. This role demands design excellence, strict brand compliance, and the ability to produce diverse assets that communicate professionally across all organizational touchpoints. You report to the Marketing Lead and serve as the guardian of MKMC's visual identity.
Key Responsibilities
Design comprehensive range of marketing assets: social media graphics, event posters, flyers, brochures, banners, presentation slides, and web graphics
Maintain strict adherence to brand guidelines ensuring visual consistency across all created materials
Work collaboratively with Marketing Lead, Social Media Manager, and program leads translating needs into compelling designs
Develop design templates that enable consistent, professional output while reducing creation time for recurring needs
Manage design requests from multiple departments prioritizing based on urgency and strategic importance
Maintain organized asset library of all created designs for future reference and adaptation
Stay current with design trends while maintaining timeless, professional aesthetic appropriate for religious organization
Expectations & Commitment
Time Commitment: 10–12 hours per month (design creation + revisions + template development)
Reporting: Direct report to Marketing Lead with all designs requiring approval before use
Turnaround Time: Complete standard design requests within 48–72 hours; urgent requests within 24 hours
Brand Compliance: CRITICAL requirement to follow brand guidelines strictly without deviation
Professional Development: Continuously improve design skills and software proficiency
Success Metrics
Deliver 100% of design requests within agreed timelines
Achieve brand guideline compliance on 100% of created assets
Maintain zero publication of designs without Marketing Lead approval
Build template library of 15+ reusable designs within first quarter
Achieve 95% approval rating on first-draft designs minimizing revision rounds
First 90-Day Priorities
Complete comprehensive brand guideline review and clarify any interpretation questions
Audit existing MKMC designs identifying inconsistencies and improvement opportunities
Create core template library for most frequently needed assets (social posts, event flyers, etc.)
Design initial batch of assets demonstrating adherence to brand and establishing quality bar
Establish design request and approval workflow with Marketing Lead
Organize digital asset library with proper file naming and categorization
Systems & Tools
Professional design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Designer, or Canva Pro)
Brand guideline documentation and asset library access
Cloud storage for design files and template library (Google Drive, Dropbox)
Project tracking for design requests and deadlines
Communication channel with Marketing Lead for request intake and approval
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong graphic design portfolio demonstrating versatility, professionalism, and brand consistency
Technical proficiency in industry-standard design software
Excellent attention to detail ensuring brand guideline compliance and error-free final assets
Ability to balance creativity with guidelines producing distinctive designs within defined parameters
Strong communication skills understanding needs and translating them into visual solutions
Time management abilities juggling multiple design requests with varying priorities
Understanding of print and digital design requirements for diverse output formats
