Overview

The Family Program Lead creates and sustains engaging multi-generational Islamic programming that strengthens family bonds and builds community cohesion. This role involves designing weekly Seerah sessions, interactive Kahoot competitions, and monthly family outdoor activities that make Islamic learning accessible and enjoyable for parents and children together. You will report to Programs Director  and serve as the primary architect of MKMC's family engagement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate weekly Seerah educational sessions designed for family participation across age groups

  • Create and host regular Kahoot competitions that make Islamic knowledge fun, competitive, and memorable for children and parents

  • Organize monthly family outdoor activities including hikes, picnics, and nature-based learning experiences

  • Build curriculum that balances authentic Islamic education with engaging delivery methods appropriate for diverse ages

  • Recruit and manage volunteer support team to assist with program delivery, logistics, and child supervision

  • Maintain consistent communication with participating families regarding schedules, content, and community updates

  • Track attendance, family engagement levels, and program impact through structured feedback and observation

Expectations & Commitment

  • Time Commitment: 10–12 hours per month (weekly Seerah + Kahoot prep + monthly hike + planning)

  • Reporting: Direct report to Programs Director with monthly program reviews

  • Strategic Planning: Submit comprehensive 6-month family programming plan within 30 days

  • Safety Protocols: Maintain child safety standards and emergency procedures for all family events

  • Professional Development: Participate in quarterly volunteer training sessions

Success Metrics

  • Maintain weekly Seerah attendance of 15+ families within first 90 days

  • Execute 100% of planned Kahoot sessions and monthly outdoor activities without cancellation

  • Achieve 80% family retention rate quarter-over-quarter

  • Build support volunteer team of 3–4 individuals by month 4

  • Demonstrate measurable Islamic knowledge growth in participating children through assessments

First 90-Day Priorities

  • Launch weekly Seerah program with clear curriculum structure and family-friendly delivery format

  • Execute first 3 Kahoot competitions building excitement and competitive participation

  • Complete first monthly family hike establishing safety protocols and activity framework

  • Establish family communication system (WhatsApp group, email updates, event reminders)

  • Recruit initial volunteer support team and clarify roles for sustainable delivery

  • Create resource library of Seerah materials, Kahoot templates, and outdoor activity guides

Systems & Tools

  • WhatsApp groups for family communication and event coordination

  • Kahoot platform for interactive Islamic knowledge competitions

  • Google Sheets for attendance tracking and family database management

  • Shared calendar for MKMC-wide event scheduling and resource coordination

  • Safety checklists and emergency contact systems for outdoor activities

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong Islamic knowledge with ability to teach Seerah in engaging, age-appropriate manner

  • Experience working with children and families in educational or recreational settings

  • Creative program design skills that transform traditional learning into interactive experiences

  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple program components consistently

  • Comfortable with outdoor activities and ability to lead groups in nature settings

  • Natural relationship-builder who creates inclusive, welcoming family environments

  • Parent or extensive childcare experience preferred; understanding of family dynamics essential
