Overview

The Brothers Social Lead organizes monthly social gatherings and outings for Muslim men aged 18–35, creating spaces for brotherhood, networking, and community bonding outside formal religious programming. This role requires event execution skills, budget management, and the ability to design experiences that strengthen relationships and build lasting connections among young Muslim professionals and students. You will work closely with the Young Adults Lead to complement weekly programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute monthly social events and outings tailored to young Muslim men's interests and community-building needs

  • Manage event logistics including venue selection, transportation coordination, activity booking, and budget oversight

  • Build event planning team to distribute responsibilities and ensure sustainable execution capacity

  • Develop diverse event portfolio including sports, outdoor activities, professional networking, and cultural experiences

  • Maintain participant database and actively recruit new members to expand community reach

  • Coordinate with Young Adults Lead to ensure social programming aligns with broader community strategy

  • Track event attendance, satisfaction metrics, and participant feedback for continuous improvement

Expectations & Commitment

  • Time Commitment: 8–10 hours per month (monthly event + planning + coordination)

  • Reporting: Report to Programs Director  with coordination through Young Adults Lead

  • Strategic Planning: Submit 6-month event calendar within first 30 days of appointment

  • Budget Management: Operate within allocated budget and maintain transparent financial records

  • Professional Development: Participate in quarterly volunteer training sessions

Success Metrics

  • Execute 100% of planned monthly events without cancellations or postponements

  • Maintain average attendance of 20+ brothers per monthly event within first quarter

  • Achieve 70% repeat attendance rate demonstrating community cohesion

  • Recruit event planning team of 3–4 brothers to distribute workload by month 4

  • Stay within or under budget for all events while maintaining quality standards

First 90-Day Priorities

  • Launch with 3 successful monthly events demonstrating variety and broad appeal

  • Establish event planning process including booking timelines, communication protocols, and logistics checklists

  • Build WhatsApp communication channel and develop outreach strategy for new participants

  • Identify and recruit 2–3 team members to assist with specific event types or logistics

  • Create feedback system to gather participant input and refine event offerings

Systems & Tools

  • WhatsApp groups for event communication and RSVP tracking

  • Google Sheets for budget management and attendance records

  • Event booking platforms for activity reservations

  • Shared MKMC calendar for facility and resource coordination

  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to plan and execute group events successfully

  • Budget-conscious with practical understanding of cost management and financial accountability

  • Creative thinking to design diverse events that appeal to varying interests and activity levels

  • Reliable and detail-oriented with follow-through on commitments and deadlines

  • Understanding of Islamic boundaries and ability to plan events consistent with community values

  • Age 22–35 preferred; peer credibility combined with organizational maturity
